Established in 1999 to support Palestinian farmers and enhance the production of high-quality Medjool dates across nearly 30,000 dunams.
The association aims to safeguard agricultural products and preserve the capital invested in the palm cultivation and date production sector, with a focus on ensuring the sustainability of this vital field. It strives to provide a stable and secure environment for farmers and investors, protecting their economic and legal rights, while supporting the continuity and quality of production to ensure a sustainable economic return for all stakeholders.
The association works to establish a clear identity for the palm cultivation sector and regulate its internal structure by setting policies and procedures that help streamline operations and enhance efficiency. It also forms specialized arbitration committees to handle local and international disputes related to the sector, thereby safeguarding rights, strengthening trust among farmers, investors, and business partners, and ensuring fair treatment of all matters that may impact the sector’s stability.
The association focuses on developing the sector by introducing the latest agricultural technologies and modern production methods that enhance the quality and efficiency of the product. It also adopts innovative marketing strategies both locally and internationally, including promoting Palestinian dates, opening new markets, improving the product’s image, and strengthening its competitiveness against other products in regional and global markets.
The association aims to achieve integrated and efficient management of production inputs in terms of quantity and quality, while working to reduce agricultural operational costs without compromising quality. It also seeks to enhance the added value of the product through innovation in processing, packaging, and improvements in storage and transportation methods, thereby elevating the quality of dates, increasing their economic return, and strengthening the sector’s competitiveness in local and global markets.

The Cooperative Association of Palm Growers in Jericho and the Jordan Valley was established in 1999 by a pioneering group active in the palm and date production sector, guided by the principles of reinforcing the presence of Palestinian farmers on their land and investing in the cultivation of the Medjool (also known as Majdool) date. By 2022, this sector spanned nearly 30,000 dunams in the Jericho and Jordan Valley areas, which are among the most suitable regions for this type of cultivation. The Cooperative Association of Palm Growers in Jericho and the Jordan Valley represents the largest segment of producing farmers, packing houses, and related stakeholders. It seeks to strengthen its main resources and economic aspects in order to represent farmers before institutions responsible for date cultivation and production. The association plays a central role in decision-making, policies, and procedures related to all aspects of date production, ensuring the final product is ready for both local and international marketing. We believe that the Palestinian government should actively support the association alongside all relevant authorities, particularly the Ministry of Economy and the Jericho and Jordan Valley Governorate, as the palm sector, according to studies, is among the most profitable and organized sectors in Palestinian agricultural exports. The palm sector is a major agricultural sector, with approximately 350,000 Medjool palm trees valued at over 500 million USD. The cultivated area covers nearly 30,000 dunams in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, which are considered sensitive areas by the Israeli occupation due to their border and military significance and as part of Palestine’s agricultural heartland.
To establish a distinguished and specialized agricultural sector in palm cultivation and date production in an organized, sustainable, and scalable manner, with the aim of producing high-quality dates suitable for international export and global competitiveness, while promoting the nutritional and health value of palms and dates.

I have been a member of the PFCA cooperative for two years, and I can say that it has given me a lot of support in the field of agriculture. The association provides us with agricultural supplies at reasonable prices, in addition to training courses that help us improve agricultural and production techniques. The continuous technical support also makes us feel confident in our agricultural projects. I thank the association for its continued efforts and wish them more success.

I only joined the PFCA Co-op a short time ago, but I have noticed a huge difference in the level of support and services they provide. The association contributes to ensuring good marketing of agricultural products, which helps us improve our income. In addition, the work team is very cooperative and provides professional advice that helps us solve the agricultural problems we face. I believe that the association represents a real opportunity for farmers in the region.

My experience with the PFCA Co-op has been very positive. The association provides women farmers like us with great educational and business opportunities. There is continuous coordination between members and exchange of experiences between farmers, which increases the quality of production. Also, the association's efforts to market local products make it an excellent choice for farmers looking to grow.
